How we spend our time is how we become ourselves
In The Shallows, Nicholas Carr writes:
“How we spend our time determines how we spend our lives. It determines who we become (or don’t become).”
It stuck with me.
Our experiences, our routines, the way we structure our days—it all adds up.
And yet, in a world designed to distract us, making intentional choices feels harder than ever.
Let’s be honest: we’re all a little addicted.
To the scroll, the rush, the background noise that never really stops.
Maybe we’re even a little scared of the quiet.
But if our lives are shaped by how we spend our time...
shouldn’t we take a closer look at where it’s actually going?
Instead of letting ourselves be pulled away—constantly.
What kind of life am I actually building, just by how I spend my days?
