The web we don’t want to leave

We know the system doesn’t work.
Not for most of us.
Not for the ones who came late to the game,
when the doors had already closed
and the rules were locked in.

The economy rewards those who got there first.
The rest of us are told to “play it safe.”
Don’t take risks.
Don’t ask too much.
Don’t make it worse.

And yet—
there’s luxury.
There’s comfort.
There’s that next-day delivery box on the doorstep.
Cheap, fast, and made by someone you’ll never meet.

We say we want out.
We want change.
But how do you untangle yourself
from a web that glows so beautifully in the light?

Maybe that’s what holds us.
Not just fear.
But the illusion of safety in a system
that already left most of us behind.

What if we stopped pretending the threads would save us and started asking what we want to build instead?
